Age progressed image used in appeal for missing Andrew Gosden
A new appeal for information has been issued following the two year anniversary of the disappearance of Andrew Gosden from his home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
Andrew's father Kevin says that he hopes the new age progressed images will help him to find out what has happened to his son.
Although there was a good response from previous appeals, which have led to officers investigating potential sightings across the country, the last confirmed sighting of Andrew, is the CCTV footage as he left Kings Cross train station in London on Friday 14 September 2007.
When he left it is thought Andrew may have taken his PSP (play station portable) in a black canvas bag. The bag has patches sewn onto it with rock bands on such as Blink 182 on the front flap.
Posters of Andrew have been put up in London showing his photograph and age progressed image in the hope that someone will have seen him.
Andrew's father Kevin said "One of the things I guess that all of us have feared or worried about is you end up thinking 'It's two years, how's he changed? If I bumped into him in the street, would I know who he was?'.
It's reassuring to look at that and think 'Yes, I'd know you anywhere'."
Mr Gosden said his son was lovely and not a selfish, uncaring, obnoxious teenager at all.
"He was a really lovely, polite kid and the fact that he's made no contact kind of makes me think he's dead more than anything because I can't believe quite that he would be so uncaring as to never make any contact," he said.
"It's the most horrible, horrible thing wondering where your kid is, are they alive, dead, lonely, scared, hungry, cold, isolated, abused? It's just horrible and completely unending."
On the day he went missing he had left for school as usual in the morning but did not catch the bus to school. He waited until his parents had left for work before letting himself back into the house to change out of his school uniform before withdrawing money from a cash machine to buy a one-way ticket to London.
The age progressed images which have been released give an indication as to what Andrew may look like today, however there is no way of knowing certain how he may have changed two years on.
Andrew's photo has been featured on thousands of milk cartons and has appeared on posters and on TV screens in NHS hospitals, GP surgeries and walk-in centres nationwide.
Andrew is a prize winning mathematician who should have been celebrating his GCSE's this summer.
When he was last seen he was described as about 5ft 3in tall, slim build and had straight brown hair. He has now been missing for two years and therefore it is likely that he would have grown considerably since then. It is believed that he was wearing a black t-shirt, black trousers and black trainers on the day he left home.
