Privacy Statement

Any information provided to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre by users thorough this site will be treated in confidence and will not be disclosed to third parties unless required to do so by law. Where the provision of personal data is required to enable CEOP to provide a specific service to the user, the details collected will only be used for policing purposes.

The CEOP reserves the right to gather information relating to site usage. Any information gathered is for internal use to allow service improvement. Where appropriate it may be used in support of the policing purposes as provided for in legislation.

By continuing to use this site you are considered as understanding and agreeing to the contents of this statement.

Openness and Transparency

CEOP derives its statutory powers from the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 and CEOP is therefore exempt from The Freedom of Information Act 2000. Nevertheless it is the policy of CEOP to be as open and transparent in our dealings with the public where possible and each request for information will be considered on a case by case basis.

Security

We endeavour to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information but cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose online. You accept the inherent security risks of providing the information over the internet and will not hold CEOP responsible for any breach of security unless this is due to the negligence or wilful default of CEOP.

The text on the CEOP website may be reproduced free of charge in any format or medium, provided it is reproduced accurately, is not used in a misleading context, and our copyright is clearly acknowledged. You are prohibited from using any content that may place any missing child in a false light.

CEOP allows the copying and or downloading of these images solely for the purpose of locating the missing child. Downloading or copying for any other purpose is strictly prohibited.

You  may use the text and photo’s on ‘useful sites’ and other similarly titled pages and /or within text on your web site, so long as your use complies with and you agree to the following terms and conditions.

• You will not use the hypertext link for  any commercial or sponsorship purpose
• You will not use the hypertext link  in any way that may create an impression of affiliation, sponsorship, or partnering between CEOP and you.
• You will not use the hypertext link in any context that may tarnish CEOP’s reputation.

• You will not reproduce any missing child photo(s) without CEP’s consent.
• You agree to  immediately remove the  hypertext link from your website if instructed to do so by CEOP.
• All goodwill and improved reputation relating to any CEOP marks generated by your use of such CEOP marks will inure to the benefit of CEOP. Nothing herein is intended to give you rightd to any CEOP marks.
• You acknowledge CEOP may periodically update this agreement and you are responsible for checking the website (WWW.MISSINGKIDS.CO.UK) to learn of any changes.
